Structured group work process using reflection, feedback, and shared learning

The GroupWorks method is hands-on and focuses on creating change from the inside out. In the first session, group members get to know each other and share what they hope to accomplish in the weeks ahead. We’ll go over the format, talk about group guidelines, and emphasize the importance of confidentiality. Each person will set a weekly goal based on their current professional or relationship challenges at work. The session wraps up with a discussion about the actions each member plans to take to move closer to that goal. Giving and receiving feedback is a vital part of the process as we draw on the collective experience and wisdom of the group. In follow-up meetings, we’ll celebrate successes, talk about challenges, and adjust goals and strategies as needed. This rhythm continues through the next 14 sessions, creating a consistent space for reflection, accountability, and growth.

How it Works

Group work follows a natural rhythm that guides participants from awareness to action.

Assessment: We start by looking at what each person wants to strengthen as a leader, team member, or colleague. This self-assessment helps everyone get clear about their focus and sets the stage for meaningful growth.

Goal Setting: From there, each participant creates a few specific goals based on what they discovered in the assessment. These goals focus on behavior and action and are refined over time through feedback and reflection.

Overall Process: Throughout the sessions, we pay close attention to how people communicate and connect. We practice listening, giving and receiving feedback, showing empathy and curiosity, and handling conflict in productive ways.

Reflection and Celebration: Every session includes time to look back on what worked, what didn’t, and what might need to change. We take a moment to celebrate progress, learn from challenges, and fine-tune goals as we go.

New Patterns: Over time, insight turns into real change. In the final sessions, we pull together what’s been learned, reinforce new habits, and explore how to carry these positive changes forward into everyday work.

Why it Works

Group work creates a kind of learning that one-on-one coaching cannot fully replicate. When people practice new skills together, they experience real-time feedback, shared insight, and the chance to explore how they affect and are affected by others. This relational awareness deepens understanding and accelerates change.

Groups typically include a small number of participants to maintain trust and confidentiality. Within this structure, members reflect on their patterns, test new approaches, and learn from the diverse perspectives of others. The result is a supportive environment where people can grow steadily and authentically week after week.
